CARE3G plans to be the third generation of CARE2X. It doesn't conflicts with CARE2X development and it doesn't intend to be a fork of it but rather its future. We envisage this branch as a big step forward without breaking the current development of Care2X and its current users around the globe.
CARE3G will port all parts of CARE2X that are MEDICAL specific and will adapt them to Drupal modules wrapped in a Drupal distribution. This will further help the development of future versions of CARE2X/3G because the Content Management and User Management System's development will be developed and mantained by other bigger teams and the CARE3G team will concentrate all its efforts only in what concerns to CARE2X/3G's development and maintenance.

Care2x HIS is a smart software for hospitals and healthcare organizations. It is designed to integrate the different information systems existing in these organizations into one single efficient system.
Care2x HIS solves the problems inherent in a network of multiple programs that are noncompatible with each other. It can integrate almost any type of services, systems, departments, clinic, processes, data, communication, etc. that exist in a hospital. Its design can even handle non-medical services or functions like security, maintenance and more. It is modular and highly scalable. CARE3G will have the advantage to profit from all current and future DRUPAL modules developed by its community and surely also from a bigger support team.

Care2x and CARE3G are projects made under the open source development (OSD) filosophy and is distributed under the "GNU General Public License". Its source code is freely-distributed and available to the general public.
The Care2x project was founded by Elpidio Latorilla. He is currently also the project's team leader. The Care3G branch project was founded by Lopo Lencastre de Almeida and several other Care2x Team members.
